Oolong Tea :
Oolong tea is an exotic hand-made artisanal tea which has made its way into craft teas, cocktail teas and dessert teas, because of its truly versatile flavour profile. Oolong tea has a strong natural flavour from the over-roasted tea leaves blended with earthen nuances. It is a mellow blend with an exceedingly mature relish. Oolong tea is characterized by a strong energizing rich taste that comes from the hand rolling of its tea leaves to ensure that the aroma of the tea oils does not get lost. Grown in mystical mountain estates, the Oolong tea is a typical high mountain tea variant. Owing to its overpoweringly smooth and ripe taste, it is also often called the champagne of teas.
The cultivation, picking and manufacture of Oolong tea requires skilled workers. The leaves are hand-rolled carefully to ensure that even a trace of flavour isn’t lost.
Since the character of a tea is described by the oxidation that it goes through during its manufacturing, Oolong can be categorized as neither black tea nor a green tea. It is a unique variant of tea that has the natural characteristics of both kinds of teas. It could also be slight “more black” than green or slightly “more green” than black depending upon the tea master who has made it.
Oolong tea finds its place in between green tea and black tea because it is the end product formed when tea leaves are subjected to more oxidation than green tea and less oxidation than black tea. The oxidation levels in most Oolong tea varieties range from 8 percent to 80 percent.
Oolong tea is masterfully made through an artisanal process. The taste and aroma of the Oolong tea depend greatly on the region where it has been procured. Due to the appearance of the dried black tea leaves of Oolong tea, in many parts of the world, it is also called the Black-dragon tea.

Brewing time: Teacup: 2 mins/ Teapot: 3-4 mins
Re-steeping Teacup: 3-5 times.
Re-steeping time: 4,6,8 minutes

- Fill kettle with fresh water. Do not use previously boiled water. Water that has been previously boiled loses oxygen and can weaken the flavor of your tea.
- Ensure water is heated to the proper temperature for steeping
- Warm the teapot and/or teacup with the hot water. Pour some of the freshly heated water in teapot or teacup and rinse. This will warm the teapot or teacup, keeping tea hot for a longer period of time.
- Pour the water and brew the tea. Let the tea infuse for three to five minutes depending on your desired strength. When your tea is steeped, remove the infuser.
To discover the delicate subtleness of each tea always follow the instructions. Feel free to experiment with dosage, time or temperature when you get accustomed to tea. Higher temperatures, larger amounts of leaves and longer steeping time will result in stronger tea with more astringency.
